History

A quarter mile from the park.

La Plateau is a neighborhood of houses built from 1978 to 2000, with the 1990s the busiest decade. For most of those years its neighbor to the east was a farm.

In 2013 the Town paid $2.5 million for 63 acres of farmland off Peppers Ferry Road, broke ground on a park there in 2021, and opened it in 2023 as Christiansburg Huckleberry Park, with turf fields, a splash pad, a playground and dog parks. The park is about a quarter mile east.
